HSE Manager

* Tasks:-
Capable of overseeing, organizing the existing safety engineers & technicians.
Able to undertake investigation and reporting as well as undertake safety improvement schemes, toolbox talks, etc.
Deploys Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems to ensure compliance with corporate and standard requirements.
Partners with leaders to continuously improve HSE culture, awareness and accountability systems.
Leads deployment of the risk assessment process and control plans development.
Leads and participates in various project teams.
Works closely with leaders to measure and communicate HSE performance.
Monitors trends and champions injury/illness reduction.
Implements strategies and tactics for successful management of HSE Workers Compensation claims and costs reductions.
Participates in HSE inspections, self-assessments, and audits.
Presents findings to management and prepares applicable reports.
Management of the HSE Department, day to day operations ensuring teamwork, high performance standards and targets are met.
Lead and facilitate the development of corporate HSE policies to support the companies HSE management system.
Maintain, review and update the HSE policies.
Ensure development of effective Emergency Response Plans.
Direct and manage Risk Assessments, Hazard Assessments


* Education/ Skills/Experience required:-

 B.S. in Safety, engineering or related field required.
 5-7 years of HSE experience in HSE in an O&G, Petrochemical, Industrial environment with progressively increasing responsibility.
 Certification in safety, health, or environmental field preferred.
 Experience in H&S Systems, Quality Management Systems and a thorough working knowledge of international codes and standards (ISO, OHSAS, OSHA, and NFPA etc).
 Thorough understanding of HSE regulatory requirements and professional best practices.
 Highly motivated, energetic, self-directed individual with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Mature judgment and decision-making ability, with strategic and tactical HSE experience.
 Must have exceptional skills in building interpersonal relationships, including high degree of tact, diplomacy and ability to influence.
 Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal.
 Effectively interfaces with employees at all organizational levels.
 Excellent interpersonal skills (training/presentation, leadership coaching, facilitation, team collaboration, communication).
 Experience participating in audits and implementing HSE management systems.
 Manufacturing experience a must.
 Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
 Excellent English verbal /written communication.
 Very effective organizational skills.
 Excellent computer skills .


* Key Performance Indicators:-

 The rate of accuracy of the HSE strategy which help the firm to maximize profits and market share while ensuring that the firms customers and employees are satisfied.
 The percentage of the HSE policies that are met.
 The percentage of the customers satisfied.
 Percentage of staff with adequate occupational health and safety (OHS) training.
 The efficiency of the total costs for health and safety prevention reports within measurement period (e.g. monthly or quarterly).
 The rate of compliance with licensing requirements.
 The Number & cost of solved safety non-conformances problems for month.
 Percentage of attendance at occupational health and safety (OHS) committee meetings.
 Number of times work was stopped due to unplanned unsafe condition.
 Percent of Safety Inspections done.

* Working conditions:-

 Work under pressure and deal with stress.
 Substantial travel may be involved
